Meet our Founder

DJ Cervantes

Founder and CEO

DJ founded Talent on Fire in 2022 with a dream and vision of changing the way candidates and hiring managers experience hiring processes. Built on a foundation of empathy and, he builds processes with organizations as they search for incredible talent that empowers them to continue pushing forward in their mission. With a keen eye towards equity in hiring, DJ has led or supported over 100 talent searches including 1 high-volume campaign that resulted in 250 performance coaches.

Prior to founding Talent on Fire, DJ was a high school science teacher, school leader, and non-profit consultant supporting new and innovative schools in creating the Social Emotional conditions necessary for all young people, and their adult classroom leaders, to thrive.

In addition to leading Talent on Fire, he is a Firefighter/EMT-B in Ohio staffing some of the busiest fire apparatus in the country. He enjoys being able to bring his interview skills, problem solving abilities, and quick decision making into this work to better understand what a medical patient is experiencing and be providing life saving measures to solve that problem.

He lives in Ohio with his wife and 3 children. He loves skiing in the winter, fishing in the summer, and avoiding pollen in the spring.
